Six CCAA oppose the closure of the non-essential activity at 8:00 p.m. on Easter

The Government, together with the autonomous communities (CCAA), will study a possible advance closure of non-essential trade at 8 pm in the face of Easter due to the rebound in infections in recent days, and with the aim of trying to avoid a fourth wave.

Although an agreement has not yet been reached, up to six autonomous communities have been reluctant to these new restrictions. These are Madrid, Andalusia, Catalonia, Asturias, Murcia and Castilla La Mancha. "We are not friends of the occurrences when things are working well. Everything that works should not be touched as long as the virus does not raise worryingly, "explained Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of Madrid.

In the meeting of the Interterritorial Council that is celebrated this Wednesday, the Executive will poll the CCAA on an extension of the restrictions, such as the advance of the closure of the activity considered non-essential. At first, the possibility of advance curfew at 8:00 p.m., a fact that would mean changing the decree of the state of alarm approved by the Congress of Deputies, which stipulates a prohibition of mobility between 23:00 and 6:00, with the possibility that regional governments can advance or delay an hour. However, Health has denied this proposal, according to sources from the Ministry directed by Carolina Darias.

Although the Interterritorial Council of the National Health System approved two weeks ago A series of coordinated measures for the San José Bridge and Easter to mitigate the expansion of the coronavirus, the Government has not ruled out that new ones may be added. In this regard, the possible advance of the closure of non-essential trade would be one of the "additional measures"to which this Tuesday the Government spokeswoman, María Jesús Montero, referred.

According to regional sources, on Monday this possibility was valued in the meeting between the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, and the councilors, when they agreed resume vaccination with AstraZeneca and expand the age range with this vaccine to people between 55 and 65 years of age.

A few months ago, the Government took to court to Castilla y León because he decided to set the curfew start at 8 p.m., outside the range marked in the decree of the state of alarm.
