The Ministry of Health has notified this Friday 21,371 new infections of Covid-19, 8,775 of them diagnosed in the last 24 hours, and has added 308 deaths, bringing Spain close to one and a half million cases of coronavirus.
The global number of infections in Spain already rises to 1,458,591 since the beginning of the pandemic, according to official statistics. The cumulative incidence in the last 14 days per 100,000 inhabitants is 498, compared to 504 yesterday and 525 last Friday, with a total of 234,280 positives in the past two weeks.
308 new deaths were added to this Friday's report, compared to 356 yesterday and 347 last Friday. In the last week, 1,315 people with a confirmed positive Covid-19 diagnosis have died in Spain. Until 40,769 people with a positive diagnostic test, they have died since the virus arrived in Spain, according to data collected by the Ministry.
Currently there 20,296 patients admitted for Covid-19 throughout Spain (20,525 yesterday) and 3,125 in the ICU (3,123 yesterday). In the last 24 hours, there have been 2,117 admissions (2,204 yesterday) and 2,241 new arrivals (2,342 yesterday). The occupancy rate of beds occupied by coronavirus is already at 16.15 percent (16.47% yesterday) and in ICUs at 31.75 percent (31.96% yesterday).
