The public entity of High Speed has suffered losses of 506 million euros due to the economic crisis caused by the pandemic.
Adif, the Railway Infrastructure Administration, has increased its 272 million more losses. The previous year, the registered figures showed that the company had suffered a decrease of 234 million euros. This year, the same analysis has revealed that they are 506 million euros in losses, that is, 272 million more.
The results are due to the economic crisis caused by the pandemic, which has greatly reduced railway operations in Spain. Among the most damaged services are long-haul services, which have suffered a decrease of almost 50% in the collection of the first nine months of the year. On the other hand, interurban services have decreased by 31.7%. The less affected have been the surroundings, with just 9%.
Not only has the collection of this period been damaged, the managers of the infrastructure that use the trains entered a 29% less, that is to say, 663.7 million euros in losses.
