Card spending is reduced in October due to new restrictions


Spaniards bought more with a credit card in October, specifically, 0.6% year-on-year. This is 3% less than in September. Face-to-face purchases have lost demand (-1%). This comes as a reaction to Covid restrictions.

Consumption has increased in 42 Spanish provinces and decreased by 10. This is shown by the analysis carried out by BBVA Research, who have wanted to expose the impact of Covid in consumption in Spain.
