The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, declared this Thursday that the vaccination campaign against the coronavirus "Could be ready" in six months, in May, coinciding with the end of the state of alarm decreed two weeks ago.
Sánchez has defended this Thursday in Valencia at the beginning of the tour of visits to the Autonomous Communities to present the Recovery Plan, the possibility of having the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 ready within six months.
"The new vaccines could be ready by that time, accompanying the change of season, and that will help us progressively recover that new normal”, He stressed in a joint appearance with the president of the Valencian Generalitat, Ximo Puig.
Meanwhile, the president has asked citizens for the same "collective discipline that we show in the first wave" and has set a goal in the next six months: reduce the accumulated incidence to 25 infections per one hundred thousand inhabitants in fourteen days.
For this reason, Sánchez has emphasized the need to adapt the response to the characteristics of this second wave through the parameters and weekly evaluations of the Interterritorial Health Council, at the same time as all the resources to overcome the economic and social emergency. "We have a common strategy," says the chief executive.
