Madrid limits meetings to 6 people, bar capacity at 50% and closes parks and gardens


The Madrid's community will apply, as of Monday, September 21, a series of measures aimed at minimizing the transmission of the coronavirus, totally out of control in the region. In addition to the mobility restrictions announced for 37 basic health zones that have been created 'expressly' due to the situation in the community, meetings will also be reduced to a maximum of 6 people (previously there were 10), general capacity will be limited to 50% and parks will be closed and gardens.

All these measures will affect the 37 health zones created by the Government of Isabel Diaz Ayuso. They are divided into 26 zones of six districts (Carabanchel, Usera, Villaverde, Villa de Vallecas, Puente de Vallecas and Ciudad Lineal, in the capital) and 11 zones of municipalities (Fuenlabrada, Humanes, Moraleja de Enmedio, Parla, Getafe, San Sebastián de los Reyes and Alcobendas), to "avoid restricting everyone's freedoms." Except for social gatherings in public and private spaces, which will be in force in "the entire region" and are limited "except in the case of cohabitants."

They are, the regional president said, "specific measures in perfectly detected areas, where the virus has spread the most," which seek to reduce activity to help contain Covid-19 infections. Therefore travel and non-essential activities are restricted.

In these specific areas it is allowed to circulate, but entry and exit will be restricted except "for work reasons; medical; to access educational centers; return to the residential area; assistance to the elderly, minors or dependents; access to banks or insurance, legal or administrative, attend exams or any other priority need, urgent or force majeure ", explained the Madrid Executive.

On the other hand, in churches and other places of worship the capacity is reduced to a third, while in the wakes A maximum of 15 people can be in outdoor spaces and 10 people in the case of being closed places. And about the gauges in the Commerce, the regional Executive has said that it drops to 50% and the closing will be at 10:00 pm "except for pharmacies, medical centers, veterinarians, fuel and others considered essential."

Regarding the hostelry, "the bar consumption is eliminated and the capacity is limited to 50%". Likewise, there may only be 6 diners at each table, instead of 10 people as before, and they will have to close at 10:00 p.m. except for food delivery services.

And there are also changes for non-regulated schools, such as academies or driving schools, where the capacity is also reduced to 50% and the face-to-face activity is limited to groups of maximum 6 people, with the appropriate safety distance measures. Finally, the Community has stated that "the sports facilities, both outdoors and indoors ", as long as 50% of the capacity is not exceeded and in groups of maximum 6 people.
