The Ministry of Health has registered 9,779 new positives for coronavirus this Friday. The total number of infections already rises to 33,850 in the week. The department directed by Salvador Illa has also added 15 new deaths.
The Autonomous Community with the most infections by PCR, 27,746 in the last two weeks, is still Madrid. In fact, a third of all cases are concentrated in the Spanish capital.
In total figures, 439,286 have been infected by the coronavirus and 29,011 have lost their lives due to the pandemic, against which Spain has already authorized a clinical trial in humans to carry out a future vaccine. The trial, in phase two, will be carried out with 190 healthy volunteers in hospitals in Madrid and Santander.
"When this phase is reached, it means that there is experience that the vaccine gives safety to administer it to humans," said the Minister of Health, who has recognized that this clinical trial does not help us to have more vaccines or sooner. Of course, Illa has clarified that "There will be an equitable distribution. It is a pride for our country to be able to participate, it helps to position ourselves and to generate knowledge, but it does not mean that we get more doses or sooner. "
