The Prosecutor's Office sees a possible crime in Podemos and Montero's accounts encourages an investigation
The Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, has highlighted that justice investigate "everything that has to investigate" on the accounts of United We Can and has affected that its political formation has been investigated dozens of times "without ever finding any indication of crime."
Montero has thus referred to the information provided by Cadena Ser, which ensures that the Prosecutor's Office of the Court of Accounts has requested that investigate the contract that Unidas Podemos made with the consulting firm Neurona for the 2019 general election campaign when appreciating a possible electoral crime and document falsification in the training accounts.
Specifically, the prosecutor of the Court of Accounts sees evidence of crime in the accounting of the electoral campaign of United We Can for the general elections of April 28, 2019, which would lead him to ask the ordinary courts to review this matter. The irregularities detected have to do with the billing of services of Neurona Consulting, with which it was contracted for said campaign.
Fiscal sources consulted by Europa Press point out that there has been a request for documentation to the supervisory body as a result of what was indicated by it in its Audit Report on the accounting of the general elections of 28-A, known earlier this month. To see crime, the prosecutor of the court of auditors could not investigate, since ordinary justice must do it.
