Cardano studies interoperability with other blockchains

0

Cardano is open to interoperability with other blockchains and it says no more to the maximalists. This is a summary of Charles Hoskinson's speech on his YouTube channel.

It is an answer for those who were shocked after the CEO of IOHK offered his help to the Ethereum Classic community, which is struggling with various vulnerabilities.

According to Charles Hoskinson, there is no alternative to interoperability and collaboration between different systems, without sacrificing competition or the goals of making the product itself the best.

To illustrate the concept, Hoskinson explains what happens in the world of smartphones: At Samsung, there is a division that collaborates with an Apple team every day. This does not mean that Samsung does not produce high-end products that compete with iPhones.

The same can happen in the blockchain world, more so in an ecosystem like IOHK where, he adds, there are 250 people working, half of whom are dedicated to Cardano, and the other half to other projects.

In Cardano there is no place for maximalists:

“For people who have developed a maximal mindset, get out of that maximal mindset. There is a place for maximalism, it is called bitcoin maximalism. If you live there, does it look good? And go believe in that project, in that chain. But this is the Cardano ecosystem, it will literally run to hundreds, if not thousands, of different standards throughout its life, from central banks to other cryptocurrencies and legacy financial traders, from the (Morgan) Chases of the world to the Goldman Sachs. of the world".

And add:

“Steps will be taken to build special links for these systems, including interoperability with authorized systems. It is very likely that in the next 24 months Cardano will talk to an IBM Hyperledger Fabric instance. It is very likely that we will consult on a project that does that and in no way does this detract from the roadmap or in any way make Cardano less competitive. "

Cardano, interoperability versus maximalism

In practice, opening up to other systems does not mean giving up your own project. On the contrary, in Cardano the exact opposite will happen. Collaborating with other platforms means become more competitive and acquire more value. And above all, it means increase the use cases and adoption of blockchain technology.

From his words it is clear that the project to make Cardano interoperable is quite realisticSo much so that, Hoskinson adds, Daedalus, Cardano's wallet, could house other tokens.

Be it Ethereum Classic or Litecoin or Bitcoin Cash, this will happen when the blockchain is multi-asset. A multi-asset Cardano, says Charles Hoskinson, will be synonymous with a increased use of ADA.

The goal will always be the success of Cardano.

Charles Hoskinson says he is tired of a cryptocurrency market where there are fanatics, trolls, maximalists, and those who accuse others of being scammers or criminals if they disagree with them.

"It is time to grow as an industry."

And concludes:

“I want us to understand each other and I enjoy having great competitors, sometimes working with them and sometimes fighting them in the battle of markets and markets for ideas, and ultimately, I believe that we as a community have the opportunity to be a role model as well. for everyone else. So let's do it. Thank you".
