TimeStamps arrive at the NEM blockchain

NEM Venture, the investment risk capital of the NEM ecosystem, announced that it has invested in SharpShark, a platform that provides a solution time stamp (TimeStamps) to protect the rights of content creators.

SharpShark It is a project born from the minds of CEO Sasha Ivanova and product designer Valeria Panina.

The two have developed the project first as a PoC (Proof of Concept) and then jointly with Cispen, the newspaper of the journalists' union.

The entire system has been redesigned to obtain the patent in the United States.

SharpShank chose the NEM blockchain, now called Symbol, to record the file signature. This, together with the author's data, demonstrates the authenticity of the content.

The data complies with GDPR, despite being kept immutable and public.

The choice of this blockchain is directly explained by the CEO, who claims to have followed NEM for several years:

“As long-standing members of the blockchain community, we have been following the NEM project for years, and the Symbol blockchain is perfectly suited to managing intellectual property. Symbol has a layered architecture that allows for lack of confidence and performance optimization, which was a natural choice for our solution. We are excited to work with the NEM Ventures team to further develop our product, with the goal of making copyright and intellectual property protection more accessible and equitable. ”

This blockchain allows different uses, such as creating a token at a very low cost.

It should be noted that living in a fully digital world has increased the risk of encountering fake news and forged documents.

Thanks to the timestamp, it is possible to set a specific time to determine with absolute certainty both the date and the content of a specific file or news item.

This allows you to verify the date the news or file was published, who published it and the content, without changing it over time or deleting it.

However, this is not the only project in this regard. In the crypto sector, there are many companies that have this goal, for example, the Zilliqa Blockchain (ZIL) or WordProof with its integrated system within WordPress that uses the EOS blockchain.
