William Shatner, the legendary actor who played Captain Kirk on Star Trek, has been a crypto enthusiast. Now the man who traveled to the final frontier plans to build an authentication system powered by the Ethereum blockchain. In May 2019, he announced his intentions to help build a blockchain that will focus on authentication of memories.
He appealed to Elon Musk along with Vitalik Buterin. And curiously, after more than a year, Musk returned to him. Musk said he didn't have much use for Ethereum at the moment.
I'm not building anything on ethereum. Not for or against it, just don't use it or own any.

Despite the fact that Musk might not be on board, Shatner still sees an important use case for blockchain in the memories game. And Captain Kirk also joked about the one-year delay before Tesla's CEO issued a response.
“That response only took a year! I still love you even though you haven't found blockchain technology fascinating! ”
Elon Musk has never had any qualms about making his feelings known on social media. It will touch on a variety of topics and cryptocurrency is one of them. He even admitted that he thinks Dogecoin is "cool" and that the community is awesome.
But Musk, who is famous for launching sinister tweets, sends mixed signals when it comes to Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Not too long ago, he appeared on the Tesla podcast and said, "He was neither here nor there in Bitcoin."
He went on to explain that its use is more for marginal activities.
“This type of anger infuriates enthusiastic people, but there are transactions that are not within the balance of the law. And obviously there are many laws in different countries. And, normally, cash is used for these transactions. But, for illegal transactions to occur, cash must also be used for legal transactions. You need an illegal to legal bridge. That's where cryptocurrencies come in. "
Obviously, the world of cryptocurrencies needs mega-rich and powerful to show interest in using blockchain for mass adoption to occur. For now, the cryptocurrency market will have to settle for the Captain of the Company rather than the creator of SpaceX.
