MoreMobile has reached a bitstream wholesale access agreement with Orange by which both parties will deploy a total of 2.20 –2.75 million Fiber Optic Real Estate Units (“Uls”) (FTTH) newly built between 2020 and 2023.
MoreMobile has promised to deploy 500,000 of these Uls, with the option of displaying other Additional 250,000, being the rest of Uls deployed by Orange.
The new Uls will cover new areas as well as densification of the current footprint. This agreement does not imply any change regarding the expectation of Net Capex (investment) on Red de Fibra previously announced by the group.
If MásMóvil were able to obtain a reasonable market share in the network deployed by Orange, the recurring savings generated against wholesale costs based on historical prices they would mean close to 5 million euros annually once the deployment is complete.
Both MásMóvil and Orange have committed to the wholesale use of bistream in the new network deployed by the other operator for a 20 year period.
Furthermore, the operator has completed the acquisition of Lycamobile (Lyca), a virtual mobile operator in Spain that operates under the Lycamobile brand. Lyca's company value has finally been agreed in 361 million euros (vs. initial estimate of 372 million mentioned with the announcement of the transaction on March 2). Payment will be made in two tranches, one of 330 million at closing and another 28 million at 12 months after closing.
