The Ibex 35 Technical Advisory Committee has decided to incorporate the company into the index Almirall to replace Mediaset Spain. The incorporation is scheduled for June 22. The last change in the index occurred just a year ago when MásMóvil replaced Técnicas Reunidas.
Almirall sounded in almost every bet to enter the selective with Fluidra. The pharmaceutical company meets the technical criteria required for joining the selective. It has a capitalization of over 2,200 million euros.
Last year, it placed 6.3% of its capital in the market through a holding company of its benchmark shareholder, Grupo Corporativo Landon.
"Be part of the Ibex 35 is a great recognition of our efforts for many years. Our work demonstrates the commitment we have with our patients, with our employees and our commitment to society in general, "said Peter Guenter, CEO of Almirall, after learning of the decision.
The Committee's statement does not come at a good time for Almirall in the stock market, so far this year it has fallen slightly more than 20%. However, analysts are very optimistic and consider it the hidden gem of the Spanish stock market. So much so that Credit Suisse has revised its position this week and has given it a bullish potential of 30% at 12 months, up to 18 euros per share, compared to 11 euros at which the security is currently trading.
For its part, the communication group abandons the selective after 15 years. In the last six months, its shares have plummeted more than 40%. Although it is not its performance on the stock market that has driven it to abandon the Ibex, but its low capitalization. It is currently worth approximately 1,000 million euros, compared to 2,000 million for Almirall.
