According to Luit Hollander, More than 15 zettahashes of computing power were required to exploit this gigantic number of blocks over the course of five years. The largest altcoin genesis block was mined on July 20, 2015.
Ethereum, along with his eccentric co-founder Vitalik Buterin, rose to fame during the ICO bubble. It was close to flipping Bitcoin in June 2017.
After a strong start in early 2020, the ETH price had its biggest daily collapse to date on March 12, but has since risen above the $ 200 level again.
This achievement reaches the brink of Ethereum 2.0. The cryptocurrency proof-of-stake iteration, also called Serenity, is expected to take off in July with the launch of Beacon Chain.
