The Minister of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, José Luis Escrivá, assured this afternoon that all the self-employed workers forced to close due to the state of alarm after the coronavirus or that they have registered a fall in income of 75% they are already entitled to the new financial benefit approved in the last Council of Ministers.
Escrivá's statements come after the Association of Autonomous Workers (ATA) has ensured that the self-employed with workers will not be able to access the benefit for cessation of activity and therefore to the exemption of quota, unless they make an ERTE.
The head of Social Security has explained through his Twitter account that all the self-employed forced to close due to the state of alarm after the coronavirus or that they have registered a fall in income of 75% they are already entitled to the new financial benefit approved in the last Council of Ministers.
The benefit is thus recognized for all the self-employed, regardless of their legal form, individuals and companies, and the previous step so far required will not have to be carried out to study low neither in the Treasury nor in the Social Security.
In addition, the self-employed with a flat rate or a bonus may request the benefit for cessation of activity without losing said bonus when the state of alarm and the exceptional nature that this implies. The administrators of the companies will not have to resign from their position either.
"I invite all the self-employed who need it to request the benefit for cessation of activity", says Lorenzo Amor, president of ATA in a statement. They will be charged 70% of the contribution base and the managing entity will be responsible for the listing of the self-employed while receiving the benefit. Thus, the self-employed person will be contributing during these months, so the registration in Social Security remains.
