The Real Madrid has defeated Unionistas Salamanca 1-3 in a Copa del Rey game that has not been as easy as it might seem a priori, when facing a La Liga Santander team with a set of 2ªB.
Zinedine Zidane were ahead on the scoreboard in the 18th minute with a goal from Gareth Bale after a weak clearance from the Salamanca defense. With this result the rest was reached, after a first part in which Real Madrid was superior.
Shortly after starting the second half, Bale would leave injured, giving entrance to Brahim Diaz. Without the Welshman in the field came the tie of Unionistas Salamanca, in the 57th minute, through Álvaro Romero. The midfielder placed the ball in the Areola goal square after a cut over Nacho.
Five minutes after 1-1, Real Madrid came forward with both Brahim Diaz with a semifallo shot that could not clear the salmantina behind. From this moment, there were occasions for the white team to expand its advantage, but also for Unionists to take the game to extra time. Finally, already in the discount, Brahim returned to see goal, leaving the final 3-1 on the scoreboard that ensures the pass of Zidane to the next round of the Copa del Rey.
